And Now We Are Three

Yesterday was an awesome day, it started early in the morning having breakfast with mom, she stayed over Saturday and Sunday and we just had some good mother-daughter time, she left early to get her car serviced and called me around 8 AM telling me Paul had called “urgently” last night around 8PM (that was the time of his flight) What happened to him? I tried to called him but his cell phone didn’t work, then I realized that he didn’t have my cell phone number or our address… he was supposed to arrive at 11:30AM and the presentation or “Entrega” was scheduled for 2 PM… what could I do? Just pray and wait for him to arrive… meanwhile, let’s take some photos!

Paul came in late, 12:15 so we RAN! We had about time to go home so he could clean up (he looked like he needed it) and go to ICBF.
As soon as we arrived people recognized us, you’re coming for the adoption, right? They probably knew because of the scared look in our eyes or the fact that we were the only ones trying to “look nice” it was a very hot day and we were glad Paul didn’t wear his jacket that would’ve been suicide!
First the psychologist, the nutritionist and the social worker came in and gave us “Katie’s manual” then they talked about her development so far, her personality and a little bit of her history and they kept telling us “if you have any questions just read the manual”.
Then they said “time to bring your baby” and they went and brought her, we had been told by other adoptive parents that we had to bring her a dress, bottle, diapers, etc.  But she came wearing this beautiful pink dress that her Foster Mother sent her with and she came with a little bag with diapers, a bottle and her little doll.  Here is our first photo as a family.

And here we are with the whole family, Katie's grandma, uncle Jason and his wife, and cousin Angel David.

We were afraid of how was she going to react to Paul since she had never been around men before, in her “manual” it said that she was afraid of men and she would probably cry with him for the first days… but in reality, she came in and set eyes on Paul and went straight to his arms and didn’t want to go with anybody else… she was mesmerized by his face, and I think she likes hearing English because she loves when Paul talks to her and even when she hears me saying something to Paul she looks at me with more attention.
I love Paul, and I think he's the most handsome man in the world, but I had never seen him as handsome as here

She warmed up to her mommy now and today that we took her to my mom’s she cried every time I got away from her view, even though my mom was playing with her. That’s my girl!
